The phone is in excellent shape, and was working fine when I upgraded to a newer phone on 10/16/2003.
There is nothing wrong with the phone. In fact, it is one of the best phones I have ever owned! I bought a
new Sanyo RL2000 (which is an updated version of the 4900 with PTT), and retired this one.
